Abstract
A notebook signed on f. ii Edward Thomas/Wick Green/Petersfield/26 xii 11'. Contents list on f. iv: `(1) Evening Chapel (2) Sigmund (3) The Pilgrim (4) Dialogue (Jehovah &c)' Original ff. 1-11 torn out. On f. 1 is the end of the essay 'The Pilgrim'; on ff. 1v-7 a dialogue between P and T and Jehovah whom they visit. On ff. 7v-41 are drafts, mostly written on rectos, of 27 poems (occurring between nos 103 and 131 in The Collected Poems of Edward Thomas dated between 4 March and 5 July 1916, mostly written in ink, some in pencil, with revision in both ink and pencil. On ff. 29v-30v are trigonometrical sketches. Blank from f. 41v. This is the manuscript designated M2 by R. George Thomas The Collected Poems, p. xxiii.ii, 125ff." f. 1 numbered '12' by Thomas, ff. 2-7 numbered 1-6 by him in second use of the book, 157 x 100mm. Blue cloth tooled with a gold fillet.
